Tutorial Project

This project can only be done by a student who missed or got 70% or below on any classwork.  For the topic of that (one) classwork  (you cannot do this more than once), create an original program using that topic which would help explain it to others.

You could do:

If you have an idea for another approach, please ask me about it.

Do not do the same program as any example code / textbook code / lecture / assignments from this course.  Although you may certainly do internet research for ideas, the final result must be your own code (remember that turning in someone else's work as your own goes in as a -100%, so someone turning in code from the internet would get a -5% to their overall grade).  A program that is specific to you -- using info from a hobby or about a pet -- is better than something generic; the program need not be useful for a real-world purpose, although that would be a big plus.

The requirements for this course hold for the code you turn in, except in the case of a "bad" example accompanied by a good example that fixes it.

Any code must be turned in as a complete zipped netbeans project directory.  Any other documents must be in MS Office format and attached directly to the same submission, not hidden inside your zip.  The way blackboard displays office documents after you submit is what I will grade, so check that it looks right and resubmit if necessary.

For full credit, you must beta test your project with at least two other students and include a word document with a very brief (one paragraph) feedback statement each person gave you (this need not be totally positive, in fact a valid criticism of the version you showed them, which you then fixed before turning the the project to me, would be excellent)

Working as a group or using the discussion boards to beta test your project will count toward collaboration credit.
