Due
at the end of class.
To be done in groups. All group members must participate in all parts. Everyone should work together at one computer, on one step at a time.
The
H drive
Every student has an W drive, space for storing files on the HCC network. On campus you can get to the W drive directly in Windows Explorer.

Getting
the book's files from the L drive
The Skills for Success text often provides documents, images, etc, for use during assignments. These can be found on the CD that came with the books, but are also available on campus on the L drive.
Taking
a Screenshot
You may sometimes need a picture of your screen -- a screenshot.
Extra
Credit [+20]
Extra credit will only be
counted if done in the same group and turned in attached to the rest of the
classwork.
1. Work through Skill 9 from the Introduction in Skills for Success (page 22).
2. Answer Topics for Discussion #2 from the Introduction (page 29)
Not in groups: When you have completed the classwork, do this Security Survey, which is anonymous and does not affect your grade. If you do not have time to complete it in class, do it at home.
If
you are in any doubt about how to get your myitlab
set up, view this
video which will show you the entire process or read this getting
started guide. Even more help.
You need to at least register for myitlab and enroll in the right course for your section.
The course ID for your section will be found in an Announcement in the Blackboard page for your section.
If you will be using myitlab from home, you will also need to run the installation wizard on your home computer.
The installation wizard has already been run in all the computer labs on campus, such as Joppa's PC classrooms and the basement of the library.
Remember that myitlab can only handle internet explorer.
In myitlab, under Course Content->View All Content, you will find the Applications Practice folder, which is where practice activities are located. You will also see a small clock icon on the calendar marking the due date, which you can click on to go to the assignment.
Some activities are extra credit. This will be noted in the assignment (here).

Training
activities provide a "Save for Later" button. If you need to stop in
the middle of the assignment, you can click this button, and return to where
you left off later. Clicking the "Submit" button turns in the
assignment for a grade.
Training activities also provide "Show me" and "Hint" buttons, which you can use if you do not know how to do what the assignment asks. You are also encouraged to have your Skills for Success text open in front of you to help while you work.
Only activities marked "Training" have these; other activites must be run all the way through at one time, and will not provide help.
